Overview

Pikey Peak Trek – Overview

The Pikey Peak Trek is one of the most popular short treks in Nepal’s Lower Solukhumbu region, offering breathtaking Himalayan scenery and authentic Sherpa culture. Known as one of the best short treks from Kathmandu, this route provides spectacular views of Mount Everest and surrounding peaks without the crowds of the Everest Base Camp trail.

From the summit of Pikey Peak (4,065 meters / 13,336 feet), trekkers can witness a stunning sunrise and enjoy panoramic views of Everest, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Lhotse, Annapurna, and many other Himalayan giants.

The trek passes through picturesque Sherpa villages, lush forests, alpine meadows, rivers, and ancient Buddhist monasteries and stupas. Trekkers also have the opportunity to visit the famous Thubtenchoeling Monastery, a historic Tibetan monastery over 50 years old.

Unlike busier trekking routes in the Everest region, the Pikey Peak Trek offers a peaceful off-the-beaten-path experience with comfortable tea house accommodation and warm Himalayan hospitality.

Suitable for trekkers with moderate fitness, the trek can be customized from 4 to 10 days depending on your schedule and trekking pace.
