LUKLA FLIGHT CHANGES 2019- THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

Tribhuvan International Airport, the only international airport of Nepal will be undergoing maintenance this spring. So starting from 1st April 2019 till 30th July, all the flights to/from Lukla will be redirected to Manthali Airport, Ramechhap.

Most of the airlines have circulated the formal statement and their travel plan until Ramechhap from Kathmandu. The date and time of the flights will remain the same as per the ticket.

Driving distance: 4-5 hours, 132 km east of Kathmandu

Altitude: 474 meters

Manthali Airport lies in the Tamakoshi River Valley in Manthali, the capital of Ramechhap district.

Accommodation/Hotels in Manthali Airport

Being a small town, Manthali does not see may visitors. Specially during peak season, if you want to stay in Manthali, accommodation facility will be very limited. In addition, the level of service might not be very high.

How to go Manthali, Ramechhap?

Option 1:

1. Go to Koteshwor Bus Park
2. Take a local bus or jeep to Manthali

This option will require you to stay in Manthali for one night. The bus leaves as early as 6 am in the morning till 1 PM.

Option 2:

Hire a jeep which will be more comfortable and less time-consuming. Also, if you need help in hiring a jeep, please do contact us along with your preferred date.
