Kathmandu
The largest city and the capital of Nepal is a hub for travelers and is growing as a popular vacation spot. With an incredibly diverse history and the iconic architecture of Buddhism and Hinduism prominent throughout Kathmandu, there are lots of fascinating places for tourists to spend time around the city.
Iconic temples like Pashupatinath, Swoyambhunath, and Boudhanath all located within Kathmandu and span nearly 2000 years. Besides the city, the hills surrounding the Kathmandu; Nagarkot and Chandragiri not only gives the city a majestic view but also the grand views of the Himalayas make Kathmandu feel like a blessed city.
Muktinath
Hinduism believes that this world is “MAYA” (an illusion) of life cycle taking birth and rebirth on this earth. And, to exit from this chain, Hindu devotees visit Muktinath temple to take bath in 108 waterspouts and two holy ponds located in front of the temple. The Muktinath Temple is also known as “Mukti Chhetra” among Hindus and is worshipped by both Buddhists and Hindus. Muktinath is a popular pilgrimage tour located in the Annapurna Conservation Area of Nepal.
Janakpurdham
Known for the famous Mughal architecture Janaki Temple, Janakpur is the birthplace of Goddess Sita. Janakpur is one of the most important religious pilgrimage sites for the Hindu Devotees. The temple was built by the Queen of Tikamgarh in 1811 as a mark of devotion to Goddess Sita. The marriage anniversary of Lord Rama and Sita is solemnized in Janakpur every year on Vivah Panchami day that falls in December.
Janakpur once had hundreds of sages who contributed substantially to Hindu philosophy, with one of their oldest works being the famous Upanisad Brihadarandyaka written in the form of a dialogue which deals with the gods, the nature of Brahma, the supreme reality and the introduction to the self.
