Itinerary:
Day 1: Kathmandu
You will be arriving at Kathmandu on this day. Our representative from Beyul will be there to receive you at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Our guides from Beyul will be on standby for those wanting to wander the city and discover the architecturally rich Kathmandu Valley.
Day 2, 3 and 4: Chitwan
On this day, you will take an early morning flight to Bharatpur Chitwan, which would take 20 minutes approximately. You will then drive for 45 minutes to the lodge you will be staying at, where you will be served the welcome drink in the dining hall. The exotic lodge we are staying at has the swimming pool, so you might be tempted to swim with a cool drink in your hand. In the evening you will be taking a walking safari through the jungle to the Narayani River with one of the naturalists to watch the elephant bathing while enjoying the sunset.
The next day you will wake up early and strap on your hiking shoes preparing for a day of exploration and excitement. A premade lunch along with refreshments will be there for you. Further, a Land Rover will take you to the river and then a local boat will ferry you across the Chitwan National Park. Another Land Rover from the other side will pick you up and take you into the heart of the jungle. There you will spend your day in the Land Rover scouting out the undergrowth for tiger and other wildlife. You will further stride down the jungle alongside sounds of orioles and hornbills, you will be taken to one of the hides/viewing points. With patience, and of course with luck, you might be able to witness rhino, jungle cat, or something else.
Later, you will jump back in the Land Rover and your guide will give you a tour of other parts of the jungle. This would be the chance to have a glimpse of the sloth bear of wild boar. Once you are back at the lodge, freshen up for the dinner.
The day after, you will be taken for river safari on the Narayani River. After a short walk via the riverine forest, you will sit inside a hand-carved boat while keeping your eyes peeled for a variety of birdlife and wildlife. You will enjoy this serene ride while observing nature at its best. Later in the afternoon, our naturalist will meet you for a jeep safari in the national park. Our experienced knowledgeable naturalists are more than proud to share information about National Park. You might encounter wildlife species such as deer, monkeys, birds, and the endangered one-horned rhinoceros, and probably the Royal Bengal Tiger.
Day 05: Lumbini – The Birthplace of Lord Buddha
After breakfast, you will drive to Lumbini, a 3-hour easy drive. No trip to the Terai would be complete without a visit to Lumbini, Buddha’s birthplace and the Lumbini Crane Sanctuary, for a chance to see the rare Sarus Crane. This place, abundant in culture and birdlife today, will add depth to your Nepal experience.
Take a guided tour around the Maya Devi Temple and the breathtaking World Peace Pagoda as well as the many temples built by pilgrims from around the world. There are temples built with Chinese, Thai and Burmese architecture, you’ll feel as if you’ve seen all of Asia in a day! Don your binoculars once more to watch Eurasian Wigeons, Eurasian Marsh Harriers and the Booted Eagles fly in the sky.
Day 6, 7 & 8: Bardiya National Park
You will drive(7-8 hours) across the southern flood plains of Nepal via Tharu villages and border towns. You can see the Marsh Mugger Crocodiles nearby the lodge you will be staying at. You will be met with a cool welcoming drink and get time to settle into your room.
Next day, after you are awake at your comfortable time, you can leave for an hour drive to the largest bridge in Nepal, Chisapani Bridge. You will then start river safari where you can witness plenty of birds, crocodiles, sometimes, if you are lucky, the extremely rare Gangetic Dolphin.
